We Asked ... You Answered
Last month, we asked, “What could the VFW do to help increase awareness about our many programs that serve veterans, troops and their families?”
Respondents offered a number of ideas to get the word out about the organization, focusing mainly on mass advertising and publicity:
- “I notice that the Tourism Dept. has information centers and pamphlet stands throughout the country. Perhaps we could put an "informational rack" in all our post offices or banks to inform vets and families of the programs available to them.”
-
“Put information in local newspapers and arrange radio time to tell area veterans or families of veterans.” -
“Work with the services to introduce troops to the VFW at the beginning of their service. I served in the Marines for five years, and I did not find out much about the VFW until I was at the end of my contract.” -
“Advertise VFW benefits on military installations where potential members can become aware of the opportunities.” -
“Do some radio interviews on patriotic holidays.”
The VFW appreciates your feedback. Weigh in on this month's question and share how you feel about important veterans' issues. |
